Things you need to know about coaching with Wakulla Youth Baseball

  • We are our own association under the Babe Ruth Charter with a Board of Directors who run this league. We are not apart of the Wakulla County Recreation Park.

  • All applications to coach with Wakulla Youth Baseball must also submit a background check form with their application that goes to the Wakulla County Recreation Park, who then sends it to the sheriffs department to run.

    • Wakulla Youth Baseball League OR the Wakulla County Recreation Department receives the results of any background check that is ran. The only thing we see is if something is failed. We do NOT see any reason for it failing either. It’s strictly confidential.

  • Applying to coach does not guarantee you will be a coach. The process is a first come, first serve with timestamp and date. As well as other factors as being a returning coach.

    • The board will hold a public board meeting where coaches are voted into our league prior to the start of evaluations.

    • Once the coaches are voted on, there will be a mandatory coaches meeting prior to the start of evaluations.

  • Only 2 coaches are allowed to be official coaches prior to the draft.

    • This rule is in place to align with the by-law that states there are only allowed 2 protected players who are immediate family only prior to the draft.

  • We are all one team who unite together to make the program better as a whole.

    • Lead by example.

    • No arguing with coaches, parents, umpires or the board.

    • No foul language.

    • No alcohol.

    • No weapons.
